Interviewer: You left a stable job to work in urban planning. Was that easy? Guest: Not at all. I had been interested in public space for years, but interest alone would not make the change sustainable. I spoke with people already doing the work and took a short evening course. That gave me a clearer picture of the daily tasks. I saved enough to manage a transition period, then accepted a part-time position. I still miss parts of my old role, especially the close team. For now, I am learning whether this field fits my strengths over the long term.
